Pet on faience tile

A faience has a protective layer as top layer.

The laser I have can't do anything on this.

That is why a base coat of white paint is first sprayed on the tile.
Once the paint has dried, we no longer have a reflective surface and the tile can be engraved.

To get contrasts, the power of the engraving machine is controlled according to the greyscale of the photo.

Thank you mirror

A perfect gift to thank someone for their efforts can be made with a thank you mirror.

To engrave a mirror, the mirror is placed with the bottom side up.
What has to be lasered on the mirror is, you guessed it, mirrored.

This is done because the back does not reflect and the laser beam does have an effect on the material on the back.

Tapas boards

These tapas boards were my first large order.

To make everything run smoothly, it was no longer enough to make 1 piece at a time.

This is the 1st time I have used a mold. However, this was a simple version. A piece of cardboard on which I engraved 6 times the shape of a tapas board. The boards were rotated relative to each other to get as many boards as possible in my work surface.

Now it was possible to have 6 tapas boards engraved in one go.

This saves time and reduces the possibility of errors.

Cork coasters

Everyone should of course drink something while working hard.

What also gives very nice results is engraving on cork.

You get a nice black result and can go into great detail.

Because this is a smaller object, I can engrave up to 9 pieces in 1 go.

Cutting plywood

After the first few orders I decided to buy a second laser.

Because this 2nd laser is stronger, I can cut through plywood of 3.6mm thick by passing it 2x at a low speed.

Which I had to go over up to 12 times with my first laser.
